Terms of service
Last updated October 22, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you (or the organization you act for) and Bird Rock Trading LLC ("we", "us"), which operates DiscountRunners.io (the "Service"). By installing our GitHub App, signing in, or adding funds, you accept them.
1. The Service
The Service provides managed, single-use virtual machines that run GitHub Actions jobs for repositories you connect through our GitHub App. Runner sizes, regions and prices are listed in our price book.
2. Your account
Your account is tied to the GitHub account or organization that installs our App. Anyone who can see that installation on GitHub can view its usage and billing in our dashboard. You are responsible for who you grant that access and for activity under your account.
3. Prepaid credit and billing
- Jobs run from a prepaid balance added through Stripe. The minimum top-up is shown at checkout.
- Usage is charged per second at the price-book rate in effect when the job ran, with the minimum stated in the price book. We place a temporary hold on your balance while a job runs.
- Credit can be used only for the Service, cannot be transferred, and does not expire. It is not refundable except where the law requires or we agree in writing.
- If a Spot VM is preempted, we refund that run and may re-run the job.
- We may change prices by publishing a new price book; new prices apply to jobs that start after publication.
- A chargeback or payment dispute may suspend your account until it is resolved.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to:
- mine cryptocurrency or run workloads unrelated to building, testing or deploying your software;
- attack, scan or disrupt any system or network, send spam, or host malware;
- break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
- resell, sublicense or provide raw access to our machines to others;
- try to get around our isolation, limits or billing, or access another customer's data.
We may stop jobs and suspend accounts that break these rules, and our cloud providers' terms apply to workloads on their infrastructure.
5. Your code and data
You keep all rights to your code and data. You give us only the permission needed to run your jobs. Our privacy policy explains what we collect.
6. Third-party software and credentials
If you run third-party tools (for example Claude Code) on our runners, you do so under that tool's terms and with your own credentials. We do not resell third-party usage.
7. Availability
The Service is in early access. It is provided "as is" and "as available", without uptime commitments or warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Spot capacity can be unavailable or reclaimed at any time.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
9. Ending the agreement
You may stop at any time by uninstalling our GitHub App. We may suspend or end the Service for you if you break these terms, or with 30 days' notice for any other reason; in that case we will refund unused credit.
10. Changes
We may update these terms by posting a new version here. Changes apply from the date posted; continuing to use the Service means you accept them.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts of San Diego County, California.
